Sustainable
Growth through Recycling
Keeping
The Earth Green
The Tai Kwong-Yokohama RM15million reclamation
plant was set-up in Ipoh in 1997. Retired batteries
are collected and sent to the plant for reclamation.
At Tai Kwong-Yokohama, we believe that our investment
in the recycling plant offers sustainable growth for
our industry, and propel us as a responsible corporate
citizen in helping to keep our Earth green.
Sustainable
Growth
At the forefront of technology, the
company’s battery reclamation facilities in Ipoh
is a step towards sustainable growth. It has developed
in-house battery recycling technologies approved by
the United Nations Environmental Department. The process
of recycling begins from the very start – before
the battery is even produced. Once the batteries are
already retired, it is then sent to our factory in Ipoh,
Perak for reclamation.
Advanced technology is employed to reclaim
lead material to produce the new main raw material -
lead ingot. The lead ingots are then sent to our factory
in Semenyih, Selangor for processing into grids and
subsequently plates. The plates are then assembled into
casings of the lead acid battery. Using this lead recovery
technology, we are able to ensure that the highly toxic
substances in batteries are neutralised making it safe
to be discharged into the environment.
Our company is strict on environmental
protection and care. We make sure our factories do not
produce needless damaging substances to the environment.
By using the lead recovery technology, we strive to
protect the environment for our children.
