Meeting International Standards
YOKOHAMA™ batteries are internationally recognized and are in compliance with renowned international organization's standards such as Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) and Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN).

To meet International standards, all products will have to undergo stringent quality inspections throughout the production process. Samples of batteries are sent regularly to independent test laboratories in England, Australia and Malaysia (SIRIM) where it is tested to meet the required standards.

Additionally, as a member of the Battery Council International Association, TKYBI Sdn. Bhd. is kept at the forefront of technological developments in the battery industry worldwide. This association has played a key role in assisting us in producing Yokohama™ batteries that feature better performance, longer shelf life and better durability.

Tai Kwong-Yokohama is the main OEM automotive battery supplier to the following motor brands in Malaysia:

To date, Tai Kwong-Yokohama has garnered 40% of the Malaysian Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) battery business and 20% market share of the local replacement battery market. On the international scene, we export more than 25% of our production to 36 countries which include Hong Kong, Italy, Mauritius, Africa, France, Belgium, Singapore, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

By differentiating ourselves from our competitors with innovative batteries, we have managed to achieve 80% of the OEM market for motorcycle batteries. International motorcycle companies in Malaysia such as Honda and Yamaha are fitted with YOKOHAMA™ batteries while locally, we supply to Modenas Kris, Comel and Nitro motorcycles.
